Competition Rules

Team restrictions

Teams may consist of up to 4 individuals. Each participant must be currently enrolled in a secondary school as a student. We encourage students from Grade 9 (Form 3) or above to join.

Students are encouraged to register with a full team of 2-4 members. Complete teams will only be modified at organiser's discretion.

Students are allowed to register alone. If so preferred, these students will be randomly paired with other individual registrations.

Topic selection

During registration, students will pick their first and second choices from this year’s policy topics, i.e. Conservation or Economy. There are a limited number of spots in each category and topic, so teams that register early will have priority.

Background papers providing a broad issue summary will be provided for each topic.

Competition structure

Each team would submit a written policy memo and presentation slides outlining their key issues and propositions. Judges would review the deliverables and provide feedback, and teams that are chosen to advance to the final competition would deliver a live presentation followed by a Q&A session by judges.

More details will be released in due course.
