Round 1

Aug 4 - Aug 11

Brainstorm and workshops

After the release of background papers on the respective topics, students will have more than a week's time to develop their ideas within their teams and formulate a policy memo and presentation slides. Three workshops from August 5 - 7 will provide students with the necessary information to work on each topic. These include sessions from environmental scientists, policy makers, environmental economists etc.

Aug 11 20:00 HKT

Policy memo and presentation slides

Each team must submit a short written policy memo and a presentation outlining their key issues and propositions. Your policy memo should contain background information related to your chosen topic, details of your proposed policy, and the proposed implementation of this policy. You should also include stakeholders concerned, and how your policy addresses these impacts.

Your PowerPoint slides should summarise your memo’s key points. They are meant to allow you to provide visuals and graphics that are relevant to your memo, so you can better communicate your ideas with the judges.

Both your policy memo and PowerPoint slides should be submitted before the deadline via email to igemhku@hku.hk.
